Milburn, Jackson, Ashley, and Monroe collect wins on opening night of The Mill's Second Season

A beautiful Saturday afternoon in Emmett, ID saw some great racing action to kick off the 2025 Season at Motorplex at the Mill. A great crowd came to see the start of a new journey for our four full time classes and opening night set up what looks to be a great and competitive year.

The Division 1 Pro Lates kicked off their season with a $2,000 to win opener and Travis Milburn would grab the pole by just .002 over Ryan Phipps. In the main event Dan Lowther would take the lead early until Milburn would track him down and after a 10-15 lap battle take over the lead. A lap 30 caution would bring the field back together and Milburn would take the lead again and be able to pull away for a seven and half second victory over Lowther who was followed by Josh Fanopolous, Rob Powers, and Kyle Tellstrom to round out the top 5.

The Division 2 NASCAR Modifieds were also in action for their $800 to win Main Event and young up and coming Aubriana Ackerland was able to take the pole position by .014 seconds over John Wood. In Heat 1 Josh Jackson was able to get the win from the third starting position and in Heat 2 John Wood got the win from the pole position. A five car invert put Josh Jackson on the pole and he would take off early until Carson Ackerland had a mechanical failure and wrecked down the back straight. As the race wore on it looked like it was going to be Jackson vs Ian Wood for the win until Wood began to fade rapidly and had to head to the pits during the final yellow when Jackson got into Aubriana Ackerland while attempting to put the mechanically stricken 39 car a lap down. Jackson would be put to the tail of lead lap cars but with so few remaining was able to take the lead quickly and drive away for his first win at The Motorplex followed by Camron Madsen, Rob Powers, Aubriana Ackerland, and Sterling Hardman to round out the top 5.

The INEX Legends began their first full season at The Mill with a strong 18 car field. Brok Kidd would take the pole position by .014 seconds over Johnethan Davis. In the heats TJ Monroe would take heat 1, Austin Murphy would take heat 2, and Beau Phipps would win heat 3. The main was a wild carnage filled affair with front runners TJ Monroe, Brok Kidd, and Beau Phipps being knocked out before the finish. This though did not take away from the exiting battle between the top three of Canyon Ashley, Johnethan Davis, and Austin Murphy. All three had a shot to win and in the end Ashley who started on pole after the 8 car invert was able to take the win over Davis and Murphy who were followed by impressive drives from Bristol Monroe and William Tuttle. Mike Soiseth would finish seventh and after being caught up in a late race incident Dylan Wardle would charge from the back of the field to finish seventh.

The INEX Bandoleros also began their first full time season at The Mill and Jhett Phipps would take pole by a massive margin of nearly half a second over the field. In the heat race Tayton Monroe would challenge Phipps for the top step but Phipps would be able to hold him off to grab the heat win as well. In the main two time winner Mason Martin would be out early making him the candidate for tough luck at the races award as Jhett Phipps would lead from the green and would look to dominate flag to flag. With just three laps to go though a mechanical failure would derail the sweep of the day and end his race and Monroe who had been stalking him all day in second would take over and win the first main of the season. The younger Phipps brother Kyro Phipps would come away with second followed by Cayden Barker in third to round out the podium.

It was an awesome night of racing and in just a little over one weeks time is the biggest Pro Late race of the year when the Roadhouse at the Mill "83617" Presented by ICCU takes place at The Mill as top Pro Late drivers from all over the region will battle for the $7500 to win grand prize.
